Would be next to impossible on a rainy or wet grounds.I found this item, and it was exactly what I had in mind. Extremly easy to insert the mounting bolts, and mount the tire. I did also order a tire cover to dress it up. Am very satisfied with the Reese Mount and could not have expected more. I did have to remount the license plate on the van to make it visible though. 5 star item for sure. Definatly Recommended. Reese 6715 Front Mount Spare Tire Carrier.
